It’s 1993 and North Carolina is experiencing a historic drought. Stuck in one of its small towns is Sam, who longs to find a better life for her younger brother Carl, who is on the Autism spectrum and fascinated by weather. She decides to steal their mother’s ice-cream truck and chase a storm Carl is predicting, and together they end up on a life-changing road trip with their estranged older sister Lillian and their eccentric friend, Lewis. Along the way, this makeshift family learns about forgiveness, acceptance, and following your dreams.
